Gents,
An absolute blast and a bit of a lesson in race-craft for me.
I set out on a 2 stopper on hard tires. At the start, I had a great race with JP, some times catching, sometimes falling behind. I felt fast, and actually kept the front 3 in sight!!! I now think they were all running a 1 stop race. I thought about it but knew I was not smooth enough to save the tires for 15 laps.
After my 1st pit I came out beside and just behind an orange spiker who spun in turn one. I was going to go inside but his car came in so I tried to go outside. In the end I hit. Man these F1 cars spin different. They stop fast when sideways too!! He he.... I have no hard feelings over the spin. It's racing and thats what happens. It is usually me who spins
I did one lap to make it back to pits without a front wing. Sloowww..... Limp... crawl around and holy #$@^.... I passed a car, perhaps a red bull?????
When I came in to pit I took no fuel or tires and went back out. Raced the next stint with no problem. But, when I came in for the last stop, it sent me out with 1 lap and no tires I had to come back in again so I could get the 3rd stint in. I usually set the car this way in case I pull a red bull on the last couple of laps and have to stop for a squirt. He he...
Next race, I'll remember...
Hoping to be faster,
Lawrence
